We are a small practice committed to the delivery of well-conceived and thoughtful architecture which brings sustainability to communities though our Local Government,  Community Not-For-Profit and Residential projects in the Wheatbelt and Great Southern regions of Western Australia. Our work is broadly defined in the areas of community, local government, residential, townscape and landscaping design. Our projects currently underway including health and well-being, retail and commercial, townscape and landscape proposals, and Local government-led sustainability projects, and private houses, and we are looking to cover our current portfolio with a view to expanding our growing team.


Position Description and Duties


Your acquired experience will ensure:

  • You will be a key part of the Practice, working closely with your team and Director
  • You have a minimum of 5 years professional experience working on project teams through all stages of the architectural process
  • You have complete responsibility for quality of production and co-ordination of small and medium scale projects
  • Your active participation and contribution as a team member of projects across all phases of the architectural process
  • You can manage the skills and resources of Architects and support staff within your team
  • You can effectively programme, plan, budget and coordinate projects in detail
  • You are comfortable dealing with clients, consultants and stakeholders through documentation and construction
  • You use your initiative to find and solve problems throughout the design and construction process
  • You can effectively ensure the quality control of final architectural product
  • You are comfortable in representing the Practice in the identification and application for potential new projects


Your skills and experience include:

  • minimum of 5 years, full time experience in an architectural practice,
  • good management and communication skills,
  • be able to permanently live and work in Australia, and are also:
  • A Registered Architect
  • Proficient, or able to become proficient, in relevant CAD (TBA), Microsoft Office, BQE Project & Practice Management software
  • Multi-disciplined, with concept to completion project and documentation experience
  • Systematic approach to design development, documentation, dimensioning, referencing and detailing complete architectural packages
  • Sound understanding of all phases of the architectural process
  • Report/specification writing and schedule preparation
  • Thoroughness in quality control
  • Organisation skills – especially time management of self and project team
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Formulation and communication of the project brief
  • Achieving client sign-off key milestones throughout the project
  • Proficient, or able to become proficient, at managing project fees, preparation of proposals and tenders, variations and invoices
  • Great communicator – written and verbal, experienced in chairing and documenting project meetings
  • Have a proactive, approachable and sociable personality
  • Flexible to adapt to studio and project priorities, programs and demands
